1. Data controller
The controller of your personal data is BEGENTLEMEN SRL, a private limited company incorporated under Belgian law, with its registered office and atelier at Avenue Louise 201, 1050 Brussels, Belgium.
We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as we are not required to do so under Article 37 GDPR. Privacy questions are handled directly by the management, at the address above.
2. What we collect, and on what legal basis
We collect only what is needed to receive you in the atelier and to make your garment. We do not operate an online shop and we take no payment through this website.
Providing your name and a means of contact is necessary to book an appointment; without it we cannot hold the slot. Everything else is optional.
Special categories. Measurement is not health data. If, however, you tell us about a physical condition that affects the cut — a prosthesis, a spinal condition, recent surgery — that note is health data under Article 9 GDPR. We record it only with your explicit consent, we keep it in your client file and nowhere else, and you may ask us to erase it at any time without affecting your order.
3. How long we keep it
We do not keep data indefinitely "just in case".
4. Who else sees your data
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We do use service providers, who act as processors on our instructions under Article 28 GDPR:
We may also disclose data where a Belgian authority or court lawfully requires it.
5. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Where a provider processes data in the United States — Meta and Google in particular — the transfer relies on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and, where that does not apply, on the Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses together with supplementary technical measures.
If you would rather no data reached those providers, contact us by telephone or e-mail instead of WhatsApp, and refuse statistics and marketing cookies. Nothing is withheld from you as a result.
6. Your rights
Under Articles 15 to 22 GDPR you may:
Write to info@begentlemen.be or to the registered office. We reply within one month; if the request is complex we may extend that by two months and will tell you why. We may ask for proof of identity where there is genuine doubt. Exercising these rights is free.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority — Autorité de protection des données / Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, +32 2 274 48 00, contact@apd-gba.be — or to the authority where you live. You may also bring the matter before the Belgian courts.
7. Security
Access to client files is limited to the tailors and staff who need it. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections, accounts are individual and password-protected, and paper measurement cards are kept in the atelier and not removed from it. Should a breach occur that presents a risk to you, we notify the Data Protection Authority within 72 hours and inform you directly where the law requires it.
8. Children
This website is not directed at children. We measure minors — for a communion, a wedding, a graduation — only in the presence of a parent or guardian, who provides any consent required.
9. Cookies
Non-essential cookies are set only after you have agreed. The categories, the individual cookies and their lifetimes are set out in the Cookie Policy, and you may change or withdraw your choice at any time via cookie settings.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The date below always reflects the current version, and material changes are announced on the website. This policy is at present issued in English only, and the English text is the binding version. A French or Dutch copy is provided free of charge on request to info@begentlemen.be, and you are welcome to exercise your rights in French, Dutch, German or English.
